General Motors needed to introduce a new mid-size vehicle to their Wentzville Assembly Plant that was producing full-size vans. In order to accomplish this goal, Gallagher-Kaiser (GK) was contracted to replace the automation in the Prime, Color 1 and Color 2 Booths. Sealer systems were added to accommodate the new mid-size vehicle, which included LASD, UBS, ISS and Anti-Chip. GK also replaced the rectifier with a new Spang unit.
By accomplishing these tasks, GM realized more flexibility in their production capabilities. The project was performed safely and on schedule. Once again, GK was able to execute the project while GM was in intermittent production.
