- GM Spring Hill System Upgrades
Gallagher-Kaiser (GK) has successfully executed several significant projects at General Motors Spring Hill Assembly Plant. Our first major project was to relocate most of the paint finishing equipment from Oklahoma City to the Spring Hill location. The project was a massive undertaking in its scope and complexity. During GM’s restructuring they de-commissioned the facility and during their rebound they hired GK to reactivate their paint shop.
New paint shop renovations were still required and GK was up to the challenge. A new fascia carrier cleaner booth with extensive conveyor modifications was installed. Another project was the rework of six (6) polymer robots and platforms. Additional maintenance projects included an isocyanate paint circulation upgrade. GK also replaced twenty five (25) exhaust fan housings while working around production requirements.
Ongoing work at the paint shop facility includes a new Roboveyor Under Body Sealer (UBS) system, Under Body Sealer (UBS) robot installation, major conveyor rework and a sealer distribution system.
