- GM Arlington Waterborne Conversion
GM decided to switch from solvent-based to water-based paint for commercial and ecological reasons. To facilitate the change, the spray booths had to undergo many modifications including new automation, the addition of heated flash zones, total rework of air supply houses, retrofit of existing ovens with GM’s patented radiant tube oven design and reconfiguration of abatement systems.
Gallagher-Kaiser’s innovative solutions to achieve GM’s goals landed us this project. The complex scope needed to be executed while GM was running full production at one of their most profitable facilities. Gallagher-Kaiser’s team was up to the challenge. Additionally, GM realized significant energy savings by following through with this project.
