February 16, 2016 – The Gallagher-Kaiser (GK) and General Motors (GM) team celebrated the First Painted Vehicle at the new GM Flint Assembly Paint Shop. The major milestone was thoughtfully commemorated by the traditional “signing of the hood,” in which personnel from both corporations had the opportunity to autograph the hood of a freshly painted vehicle.
The project was awarded to Gallagher-Kaiser in 2014 and includes a new building as well as all new process equipment. The tremendous technologically in the new facility will make it among the most advanced GM paint plants in the world.
The team has successfully completed over 1,500,000 hours without a lost time incident, a safety milestone that GK is proud to meet at every site.
