GK AND UPI EARN 2016 NMAPC SAFETY AWARD
WASHINGTON, D.C., October 27, 2016 – Gallagher-Kaiser (GK) and Universal Piping Industries (UPI) both accepted Zero Injury Safety Awards from the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee for the GM Flint project. The awards were presented at the 16th annual NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. on October 27, 2016.
Gallagher-Kaiser with Local Union No.7 and Universal Piping Industries with Local Union No.370 earned the Zero Recordable Injury Certificate of Merit. To be eligible, the project must have amassed a minimum of 500,000 hours with zero OSHA recordable injuries throughout the project. The individual contractors must have worked 50,000 – 199,999 hours without a recordable injury. UPI celebrated 101,242 work hours alongside GK with 142,843 work hours.
